The experience of being TRansformed

Being transformed by the renewing of our minds isn’t focused on having all the answers or asking the right questions. It doesn’t mean that you are the expert or an influential personality. Belief is power in the hands of the believer, and it is the conduit through which we experience the One True God for who He says He is rather than what the world says.

We are told in First Corinthians that “the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.” Leveraging our human intellect, the persuasion of our speech, or the charisma of our personality is not the pathway for the believer. When we use the opinions of the world, our culture, or societal ideal to illuminate value in the world, we trade the power and wisdom of the Almighty for the influence of human perspective and populist sway.

Being transformed is the process of shedding the influence of the world, and finding value through the eternal perspective one can only find in the presence of the One True God. This is why the message of Christ is so powerful. It reframes the goal of our lives, from achieving things for ourselves to knowing and experiencing The Lord — then sharing from that experience with others in light of what He has given us.

Where We All Start

We are all on our own paths to personal peril until we come to know the saving grace of The Lord through Jesus Christ. If you haven’t experienced Jesus in a life-changing way, click here to find out how you can. There is no more transformative and transcendent experience than meeting the Almighty face-to-face.

Many people’s experience with those who claim to know Christ, or those who attend a particular church have been rocky, difficult, or worse. Maybe you have heard someone talk of Jesus or have known about Jesus for a while, but have never experienced a greater amount of hope in your day-to-day lives. Perhaps you see the lives of those who surround you, and they seem to be just as lost in the shuffle of worldy impotence. It just might be that you need to spend time experiencing Him directly. Second-hand accounts of what He has done in someone else’s life or anecdotes of another person’s powerful experience are no substitute for the life-changing presence of the Almighty.

The goal of being transformed is not to be the self-righteous force of accountability for a world gone awry. The focus of this transformation is not to verbally assault people into a place where they agree with us. The hope that we have in being transformed by renewing our minds in Christ results in thinking differently and discussing the miraculous nature of knowing Him. It is to engage deeper parts of our hearts and ultimately direct people back to God and what He says about who we are, what we do, and how we live in response to his grace and provision.

Reconciliation is here

As it says in 2 Corinthians 5, “So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are, therefore, Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Being transformed into the new creation, in Christ, is the hope I have for everyone. I pray that the Lord draws you to Himself, that you may know him and leave the hopelessness that thrives in this world. This site is here to encourage us all toward the Lord. As the Almighty said through the prophet Isaiah, “Come, let us reason together…” Join the conversation and be transformed.

The Gospel of Mathematics

“From nursery school onward we are taught how to succeed in the world of ungrace. The early bird gets the worm. No pain, No gain. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Demand your rights. You get what you pay for. I know these rules well because I live in them. I work for what I earn; I like to win; I insist on my right. I want people to get what they deserve – nothing more, nothing less.” Philip Yancey
