Training

  1. Training is an ongoing expense consisting of monthly coaching and workout facility costs. My coach, Phil Claud, is located in Portland, Oregon.  Phil Claud was formerly the United States Cycling Federation Junior National Coach, as well as the Western United States Regional Coach.  In the spring of 1997 he decided to leave the United States Cycling Federation to work with athletes and develop them into National and World-Class athletes.  Phil Claud is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sports Lab Training Center (SLTC).  More information about SLTC and Phil Claud can be found at: www.sportslabtraining.com.
  2. Coaching will include all necessary workout items along with a stationary bicycle training machine.
  3. The stationary bicycle training machine will come with special components that record vital training feedback that will be electronically monitored by coach to determine proper preparation.
  4. Workout facility is Healthplex or National Institute for Fitness and Sport.

Rationale
The cost of training and racing is an average. The projected maximum duration of all training camps and racing events were added (totaling 123 days), then divided by the total number of training and racing events(10) to yield the average duration(12 days). The cost of each training camp and racing event consists of four components: airfare/travel, food, accommodations, and transportation (U.S. only). Food, accommodations, and transportation are daily expenses, while airfare/travel is a one-time occurrence for each event/camp.

  1. Airfare: $1000.00
  2. Food (day): $100.00
  3. Accommodations (day): $150.00
  4. Transportation (day): $100.00

The cost of each training/racing component is a projected maximum computed as follows:

  $ 10,000 (airfare @ $1000.00 x 10 events)
  $ 12,000 ((food @ $100.00/day x 12 days per event) x 10 events)
  $ 18,000 ((accommodations @ $150.00/day x 12 days per event) x 10 events)
          $ 10,800 ((Transportation @ $100.00/day x 12 days per event) x 9 events)

  $ 57,300 Total training & Training
