Cycling has played a pivotal role in my life for over 10 years, and has awarded me some of my most memorable and proudest moments and experiences. The most rewarding was a cycling scholarship to attend Indiana University. While at the University, I decided to reduce my level of cycling in order to focus on my academics. Now that I have a Bachelors of General Studies Degree, my immediate goals are to return to my previous levels of performance and take cycling to the Olympic Level.
- Ranked at the national level as a member of the U.S. National Team Development Program where I became a resident at the Olympic Training Center.
- Competed at the Elite and World Class level,
- Trained side-by-side with Marty Nothstein (Olympic Champion, Olympic Silver medalist, three-time world champion) and Erin Hartwell (three-time Olympian, six-time Olympic and world championship medalist).
- Awarded 5 National Titles, and 22 National Championship Medals (Awarded to top five).
- Awarded three NCAA National Cycling Championship Titles
- Named an NCAA All-American Athlete for the 2002-2003 Academic School Year.
- Competed in seven international competitions resulting in a Pan American Games Title as well as a World Cup Bronze Medal. International competitions include Junior World, World Cup, and Pan American Championships.
This year I will be competing in a full season of races that I hope will culminate in a top finish at the Elite Track National Championships. I am also beginning my training regime for the Olympic Games. Olympic preparation and success consists of such factors as personal determination, physical capability, and monetary capacity. While I have the determination and physical abilities to compete at the Olympics, I fall short when it comes to fiscal support.
Attached you will find a cycling resume that solidifies my reputation as a world-class cyclist and substantiates my dream of becoming a gold medal cyclist for the United States. I have also attached a sample of the real monetary costs incurred when an athlete makes this type of commitment to excellence. It is my sincere hope that you will consider providing me some assistance as I pursue my Olympic dream. I am seeking sponsorship for a one year program in order to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games. I ask for your support and assistance in helping me become an Olympic Champion.
